AHS(Active Hood lift System) is a system which lifts the hood in order to reduce the head injury of the pedestrian when there is a crash between pedestrian and vehicle.
It reduces the head injury rate of pedestrian due to actuator’s buffer and 2nd impact prevention between the head and engine room parts.
If the system determines as a pedestrian, it immediately drive the actuator to operate the hood. The actuator is driven when a pedestrian or objects(perceived as a pedestrian) is crashed on the bumper.
"ACTIVE HOOD LH/RH" fuse supplies the actuator operating power(9~16V, 28A~35A) to the "Battery Power" terminal of AHS CM.
