Removal
1.

Remove the lower and upper oil pan.

(Refer to Lubrication System - "Oil Pan")

2.

Remove the balance shaft & oil pump module (A).

caution

Do not disassemble and reassemble the balance shaft & oil pump module as it is supplied with assembly.

Installation
1.

Select a balance shaft & oil pump module using the selection chart.

If the parts is not matched, it may cause of engine adhere due to insufficient oil pressure.

A.

BSM type

α (Cap color : Yellow)

β (Cap color : Black)

B.

Piston cooling oil jet type

A (Cap color : None)

B (Cap color : Orange)

2.

Align the timing mark (A) of the balance shaft and then install the timing pin (B).

3.

Turn the crankshaft pulley and align its groove with the timing mark of the timing chain cover. Check that the timing mark (A) of the crank gear is aligned.

4.

Install the balance shaft & oil pump module (A).

Tightening torque

Bolts (B) :

30.4 ~ 34.3 N.m (3.1 ~ 3.5 kgf.m, 22.4 ~ 25.3 lb-ft)

Bolts (C) :

19.6 ~ 23.5 N.m (2.0 ~ 2.4 kgf.m, 14.5 ~ 17.4 lb-ft)

5.

Remove the timing pin (A) of the balance shaft.

6.

Install the other parts in the reverse order of removal.

7.

Refill with the engine oil.

(Refer to Lubrication System - "Engine Oil")

8.

Fill the radiator with coolant.

(Refer to Cooling System - "Coolant")
