Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the driver's side crash pad side cover.
Inspect the PTC operation by confirmation logic as below.
Entering method
Set the mode to Vent, Bi-Level, or Floor and heating position to the maximum.
Turn off the blower switch.
Press the intake (recirculation) button 5 times or more.
The indicators on the buttons willcontinuously blink with an interval of 0.5 seconds (Manual).
The graphics of the LCD display will continuously switch on and off with an interval of 0.5 seconds (DATC).
Confirm the PTC operation by turning on the blower switch.
Each PTC relay is operated with an interval of 3 seconds.
The logic test will automatically cancel after 30 seconds.
In addition, it can be cancelled by followings :
Operating any switch except the blower, temperature and off switch
Ignition switch OFF
Cancellation
Operate any switch except the blower, temperature control, mode off switch.
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
The test cancels automatically after 30 seconds.
If the PTC operation does not operate, substitute with a known-good PTC and check for proper operation.
Replace the PTC if it is proved that there is a problem with it.
Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
Using a screwdriver or remover, remove the driver's side crash pad side cover.
After loosening the mounting screws, remove the crash pad lower panel (A).
Push the lock pin (B), disconnect the diagnosis connector (C).
After loosening the mounting bolts, then remove the reinforce panel (A).
Disconnect the PTC heater connector (A) and then loosen the mounting screws.
Remove the PTC heater core.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
