Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

Has a problem been found?

	▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification Vehicle Repair" procedure.
	▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection".

Disconnect an Oil temperature sensor connector.

IG KEY "ON"" & Engine "OFF".

Measure voltage between signal of Oil temperature sensor circuit and chassis ground.

Is the measured voltage within specifications?

	▶ Go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" procedure.
	▶ Check a battery short circuit or a ground short circuit at the wiring of Oil temperature sensor and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ignition off.

Disconnected Oil temperature sensor connector.

Measure a resistance between Ground of Oil temperature sensor and chassis ground.

Is the measured resistance within specifications?

	▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.
	▶ Check harness for ground circuit opened. Repair as necessary and go to "Verification Vehicle Repair" procedure.
