Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Disconnect the Battery Sensor and PCM/ECM connectors and inspect for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Reconnect the connectors.

2.

Connect the GDS and go to “Current Data”.

3.

Monitor Battery Sensor values in Current Data, check and wiggle the harness(es), connector(s), and terminal(s).

4.

Any change in the values indicates a poor connection. Was a connector problem found?

▶ Repair the connector. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
■ Check voltage of PCM/ECM
1.

Start engine.

2.

Measure the voltage between on/start input terminal of PCM/ECM and B terminal of alternator.

Specification : Below 1.0V

3.

Is the measured voltage within specification?

▶ Go to "Check Battery Voltage" as follows.

▶ Repair open or short in harnesses and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair".

■ Check Battery Voltage
4.

Start engine.

5.

Measure the voltage between B+ terminal of battery and B+ terminal of alternator.
