Terminal and Connection Inspection
1.

Disconnect all related modules and PCM/ECM connectors and inspect for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Reconnect the connectors.

2.

Connect the GDS and go to “Current Data”.

3.

Monitor modules and PCM/ECM sensor values in Current Data, check and wiggle the harness(es), connector(s), and terminal(s).

4.

Any change in the values indicates a poor connection. Was a connector problem found?

▶ Repair the connector. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Signal Circuit Inspection
■ Check CAN communication line Open
1.

IG "OFF". Disconnect the connectors related to the CAN communication

2.

Check resistance between CAN-HIGH terminal of Instrument cluster Connector and CAN-HIGH terminal of PCM/ECM harness connector.(Measurement "A")

3.

Check resistance between CAN-LOW terminal of Instrument cluster Connector and CAN-LOW terminal of PCM/ECM harness connector.(Measurement "B")

Specification : Approx. 0Ω

4.

Is the measured resistance within specification ?

▶ Substitute with a known-good Instrument cluster and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace Instrument cluster and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Repair CAN communication line for Open. And then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
