Terminal and Connection Inspection
1.

Disconnect the APS and PCM/ECM connectors and inspect for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Reconnect the connectors.

2.

Connect the GDS and go to “Current Data”.

3.

Monitor APS values in Current Data, check and wiggle the harness(es), connector(s), and terminal(s).

4.

Any change in the values indicates a poor connection. Was a connector problem found?

▶ Repair the connector. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Signal Circuit Inspection
■ Check for Shrot to Power in Signal circuit
1.

IG "OFF".

2.

Disconnect APS harness connector.

3.

IG "ON".

4.

Measure voltage between APS2 signal terminal of APS harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 0V

5.

Is voltage within specification?

▶ Go to next procedure.

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ground Circuit Inspection
■ Check for Open in Ground circuit
1.

IG "OFF".

2.

Disconnect APS harness connector and PCM/ECM harness connector.

3.

Measure resistance between both ends of APS2 ground line.

Specification : Below 1Ω

4.

Is resistance within specification?

▶ Go to next procedure.

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
