Terminal and Connection Inspection
1.

Disconnect the Battery Sensor and PCM/ECM connectors and inspect for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Reconnect the connectors.

2.

Connect the GDS and go to “Current Data”.

3.

Monitor PCM/ECM sensor values in Current Data, check and wiggle the harness(es), connector(s), and terminal(s).

4.

Any change in the values indicates a poor connection. Was a connector problem found?

▶ Repair the connector. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Back Up Voltage Inspection" procedure.

Back Up Voltage Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF".

2.

Disconnect PCM/ECM connector.

3.

Ignition "ON".

4.

Measure voltage between terminal 6 of the PCM/ECM harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Remain stable at battery voltage

5.

Are circuits remaining stable at battery voltage?

▶ Using a scan tool, check PCM/ECM software version and upgrade as necessary. If version is the newest one, check PCM/ECM for contamination, deterioration, or damage. Substitute with a known-good PCM/ECM and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace PCM/ECM and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

It is necessary to perform the TPS adaptation procedure after the ETC assembly or PCM/ECM replacing.

■ TPS adaptation procedure

Ignition "OFF" and then "ON" without cranking. Wait for 10 seconds under enable conditions.

→ Enable conditions : Battery 〉10V & Intake Air Temp. 〉5.3℃(41.5℉) & 5.3℃(41.5℉) 〈Engine CoolantTemp. 〈99.8℃(211.6℉)

▶ If voltage fluctuates, check circuit for loose, bent or corroded terminals, Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
