Replacement
1.

Loosen the wheel nuts slightly.

Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.

2.

Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from front hub .

Tightening torque:

88.3 ~ 107.9 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~ 79.6 lb-ft)

caution

Be careful not to damage to the hub bolts when removing the rear wheel and tire (A).

3.

Remove the brake caliper mounting bolts (A), and then place the brake caliper assembly (B) with wire.

Tightening torque:

78.4 ~ 98.0 N.m (8.0 ~ 10.0 kgf.m, 57.8 ~ 72.3 lb-ft)

4.

Loosen the coking nut (A) and screw (B) then remove the front brake disc (C).

Tightening torque:

(A) 240.3 ~ 269.7 N.m (24.5 ~ 27.5 kgf.m, 177.2 ~ 198.9 lb-ft)

(B) 6.9 ~ 9.8 N.m (0.7 ~ 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 ~7.2 lb-ft)

5.

Remove the tie rod end ball joint (A) from the knuckle.

(1)

Remove the split pin (C).

(2)

Remove the castle nut (B).

(3)

Use the SST(09568-34000).

Tightening torque:

23.5 ~ 33.3 N.m (2.4 ~ 3.4 kgf.m, 19.4 ~ 24.5 lb-ft)

6.

Loosen the mount bolt and then remove the wheel speed sensor (A) from knuckle.

Tightening torque:

6.8 ~ 10.7 N.m (0.7 ~ 1.1 kgf.m, 5.0 ~ 7.9 lb-ft)

7.

Remove the lower arm (A) from the knuckle by using the SST (09568-34000).

Tightening torque:

78.5 ~ 88.3 N.m (8.0 ~ 9.0 kgf.m, 57.9 ~ 65.1 lb-ft)

caution

When using SST, be sure not to damage the dust cover of lower arm ball joint.

Keep SST tied to the car because there is a risk of injury by dropping the SST during removing the lower arm ball joint.

The peripheral parts may be damaged when removing the lower arm ball joint with a general tool such as lever, so be sure to use SST.

8.

Disconnect the driveshaft (A) from the front hub assembly.

9.

Loosen the strut mounting bolts and then remove the knuckle assembly (A).

Tightening torque:
