Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
Remove the air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to Intake and Exhaust Manifold System - "Air Cleaner")
Remove the engine wire harness connectors and wire harness clamps from cylinder head and the intake manifold.
Disconnect the oil control valve (OCV) connector (A) and alternator connector (B).
Disconnect the air conditioning compressor connector (C).
Remove the ignition coil harness bracket mounting bolts (D).
Disconnect the MAP sensor connector (F) and remove the knock sensor bracket (E).
Pull out the transaxle fluid level gauge. (AT only)
Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose (A).
Disconnect the electronic throttle control (ETC) connector (A).
Disconnect the vacuum hose (B).
Detach the throttle body (C) by unfastening mounting bolts.
Tightening torque :
9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)
Remove the filler neck assembly (A).
Tightening torque :
6.9 ~ 10.8 N.m (0.7 ~ 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 ~ 8.0 Ib-ft)
Pull out the oil level gauge (A).
Remove the intake manifold (A).
Tightening torque :
18.6 ~ 23.5 N.m (1.9 ~ 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 ~ 17.4 lb-ft)
When installing, replace with new gaskets.
When installing the intake manifold, tighten the bolts & nuts with pre-torque first and then tighten the bolts & nuts with specified torque in the sequence shown.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
