Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor (ECTS) connector (A).
(Refer to Engine Control / Fuel System - "Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECTS)")
Disconnect the battery "-" terminal.
Remove the air duct and air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to Intake And Exhaust System - "Air Cleaner)
Drain the coolant.
(Refer to Cooling System - "Coolant")
Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor (ECTS) connector (A).
(Refer to Engine Control / Fuel System - "Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECTS)")
Disconnect the radiator upper hose (A).
Disconnect the heater hose (A).
When installing the heater hoses, install as shown in illustrations.
Remove the water temperature control assemly (A).
Tightening torque :
9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 Ib-ft)
Remove the intake manifold.
(Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "Intake Manifold")
Remove the water pipe (A).
Tightening torque
M6 bolt and nuts :
9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)
M8 bolt :
18.6 ~ 23.5 N.m (1.9 ~ 2.4 kgf.m, 13.7 ~ 17.4 lb-ft)
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Clean surface on the O-ring and install the O-ring after wetting with water.
