Delay / Shock / Harsh at "N" to "D"
1.

Confirm the "ECU up-grade" in GDS.

(1)

Connect GDS to Data Link Connector(DLC).

(2)

Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".

(3)

Input the "VIN"

(4)

Select "ECU Upgrade" in the "Vehicle S/W Management".

(5)

Perform ECU Upgrade process If the file exisit about AT system.

(6)

Turn IG OFF for 10 seconds and then back on. Click the OK button.

2.

Perform the "N→R" Oil-pressure Adaption.

※ Before confirm the "N→R" Oil-pressure Adaption, Initialize and erase existing learnt value using GDS.

Erasing learnt value

(1)

Connect GDS to Data Link Connector(DLC).

(2)

Ignition "ON" & Engine "ON".

(3)

Perform Reseeting Auto T/A values in the "Vehicle S/W Management" with GDS.

(4)

After erase learnt value, must be change "IG ON → IG OFF".

※ Erasing condition

(5)

IG ON, ENGINE OFF

(6)

Shift lever : "P"

(7)

Vehicle speed : 0 km/h

Method of "N→R" Oil-pressure Adaption

(8)

IG ON, ENGINE ON

(9)

ATF temperature must be between 50℃(122℉) and 120℃(248℉).

(10)

Step on the brake and change shift lever N to R(N→D) and then change shift lever to N(D→N) maintain 4 seconds.

(11)

Repeat 3rd step at least 5times.

A.

Shift shock in "R" range happen When the Auto T/A in "FAIL SAFE MODE(Fixed 4th gear)" caused by mechanical faulty or electrical faulty. Because Solenoid valves are not working. So check the DTC before confirm diagnosis process.

B.

Shift shock in "R" range can be happen according to the Auto T/A install condition, So must be checked mounting braket condition.

(12)

The Symptom is corrected?

▶ The cause of this Symptom is Oil-pressure Adaption. So perform Basic inspection procedure.

▶ Go to "Service data Inspection" procedure.

Service-Data inspection.

caution

To perform this Test, ATF temperature must be above 60℃ and Engine load is normal status.

(13)

Connect GDS to Data Link Connector(DLC).

(14)

Ignition "ON" & Engine "ON".

(15)

Monitor "Input Speed, Shift Lever Switch, Shift Control Solenoid Valve A(UD/B) " parameters on the "Current Data" with GDS.

(16)

Step on the brake and shift "N" to "D"range.

(17)

Confirm the SVC-DATA as below.

A.

① "Flight Record" and "Data Review"

B.

② Click the "+" or "-" buttons to choose 0.5 sec. / Div or less

C.

③ Move the cursor to the start of the shift and "Left click"

D.

④ Move the cursor to the end of the shift and "Right click"

E.

⑤ Read the UD/B solenoid v/v operation time at the top right of the screen.

▶ If the shift is less than 0.8 seconds, exchange a PCM from another vehicle and retest.

▶ If the shift is more than 2.5 seconds, compare to a similar model and year vehicle.

Check the resistance of UD/B Solenoid Valve and Repair or replace as necessary.

■Specification : Shift Control Solenoid Valve A (UD/B) (5.1±0.4Ω)

Replace the transmission if the shift time is longer than a comparison vehicle.

F.

⑥ Input speed must be changed "0" rpm within UD/B solenoid v/v operation time.
