Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Disconnect the Injector and PCM/ECM connector and inspect for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Reconnect the connectors.

2.

Connect the GDS and go to “Current Data”.

3.

Monitor Injector values in Current Data, check and wiggle the harness(es), connector(s), and terminal(s).

4.

Any change in the values indicates a poor connection. Was a connector problem found?

▶ Repair the connector. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
■ Check voltage
1.

IG "OFF". Disconnect injector connector.

2.

IG "ON".

3.

Measure voltage between power terminal of injector harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. B+

4.

Is the measured voltage within specification ?

▶ Go to "Control Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Check for a open in the power supply circuit between the main relay and the Injector.

▶ Check for open or blown 15A injector fuse.

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Control Circuit Inspection
■ Check short to ground in harness
1.

IG "OFF". Disconnect injector connector and PCM/ECM connector.

2.

Measure resistance between injector control terminal of injector harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Infinite

3.

Is the measured resistance within specification ?

▶ Go to "Check open in harness" as follows.

▶ Repair short to ground in harness. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

■ Check open in harness
4.

IG "OFF". Disconnect injector connector and PCM/ECM connector.

5.

Measure resistance between injector control terminal of injector harness connector and injector control terminal of PCM/ECM harness connector.

Specification : Below 1Ω

6.

Is the measured resistance within specification ?

▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open in harness. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
