Disconnect all related modules and PCM/ECM connectors and inspect for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Reconnect the connectors.
Connect the GDS and go to “Current Data”.
Monitor modules and PCM/ECM sensor values in Current Data, check and wiggle the harness(es), connector(s), and terminal(s).
Any change in the values indicates a poor connection. Was a connector problem found?
![]() | ▶ Repair the connector. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
![]() | ▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure. |
IG "OFF". Disconnect the connectors related to the CAN communication
Check resistance between CAN-HIGH terminal of Instrument cluster Connector and CAN-HIGH terminal of PCM/ECM harness connector.(Measurement "A")
Check resistance between CAN-LOW terminal of Instrument cluster Connector and CAN-LOW terminal of PCM/ECM harness connector.(Measurement "B")
Specification : Approx. 0Ω
Is the measured resistance within specification ?
![]() | ▶ Substitute with a known-good Instrument cluster and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace Instrument cluster and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
![]() | ▶ Repair CAN communication line for Open. And then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
