Terminal & Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to " Power Circuit Inspection " procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
1.

IG KEY "OFF".

2.

Disconnect the VIS connectors

3.

IG KEY "ON" & ENG "OFF"

4.

Measure the voltage between power terminal of VIS harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification :Approx. B+

5.

Is the measured voltage within specification?

▶ Go to "Control Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Check fuse connected to power of VIS for open or blown-off.

▶ Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure

Control Circuit Inspection
1.

IG KEY "OFF".

2.

Disconnect the VIS connectors

3.

IG KEY "ON" & ENG "OFF"

4.

Measure the voltage between control terminal of VIS harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification :Approx. 3.5V

5.

Is the measured voltage within specification?

▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure
