Terminal & Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Signal Circuit Inspection
■ All circuit inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF".

2.

Measure resistance between CAN high terminal and CAN low terminal of TCM harness connector.

Specification : Approx. 60 Ω ± 10Ω(TCM connector connected)

3.

Is the measured resistance within specifications ?

▶ Go to "2. Resistance inspection" procedure.

▶ Substitute with a known-good "TCM" and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace "TCM" and Go to "verification of vehicle repair" procedure.

■ Resistance Inspection
4.

Ignition "OFF".

5.

Disconnect "ECU" connector.

6.

Measure resistance between CAN high terminal and CAN low terminal of TCM harness connector.

Specification : Approx. 120 Ω ± 10Ω(Disconnect TCM connector)

7.

Is the measured resistance within specifications ?

▶ Substitute with a known-good "TCM" and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace "TCM" and Go to "verification of vehicle repair" procedure.

▶ Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage and resistor for CAN communication is open. Repair as necessary and then, go to 'Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
