"STALL TEST"

Warm-up Engine

Measure the highest Engine speed by full accelerating at "R" range

■ Specification : 2,100 ~ 2,500 rpm

caution
1.

Make it sure that anybody isn't near testing vehicle during test, vehicle can be moved.

2.

Check ATF gage status, temperature and Engine Coolant Temperature.

ATF gage status : check gage appoint "HOT".

ATF temperature : 80~100℃.

Coolant Temperature : 80~100℃.

3.

Set sticks at each wheels.

4.

Set Parking Brake and push brake pedal with all force.

5.

Do not "Stall Test" over 8 sec.

6.

If do "Stall Test" over 2 times then ATF temperature should be down by Engine speed(about 1,000rpm) down and changed Shift lever "N-Range".

A.

▶ If the measured value is greater than specification, Go to "Service Data" Inspection procedure.

▶ If the measured value is smaller than specification, It is caused by Engine System in most of cases. So check the Engine System first.

If can not fine any problem with Engine System, It can be caused by Oil-pump or Torque Converter in Auto-Transaxle. So replace Auto-Transaxle.

"Service Data" Inspection

2-1. "INHIBITOR SWITCH"

Connect GDS to Data Link Connector(DLC).

(2)

Ignition "ON" & Engine "ON".

(3)

Monitor "Shift Lever Switch, Current Gear" parameters on the "Current Data" with GDS.

(4)

Move shift lever from P-range to D-range.

(5)

Confirm the coincide with output value of current data and Shift lever.

Does Inhibitor switch output value changed according to Shift-lever?

▶ Go to the "Solenoid Valve" Inspection procedure.

▶ Go to the "INHIBITOR SWITCH" Inspection procedure.

2-2. "Solenoid Valve" Inspection

Connect GDS to Data Link Connector(DLC).

Ignition "ON" & Engine "ON".

Monitor "Input Speed, Output Speed, Shift Lever Switch, Shift Control Solenoid Valve C, Shift Control Solenoid Valve F" parameters on the "Current Data" with GDS.

Step on the brake and shift "R" range.

A.

Confirm the output value of "Input speed" is "0 rpm".

※ If not "0 rpm" for "Input speed" value , Replace the Automatic Transaxle because This problem is caused by internal defect of Auto T/A.

A.

Confirm the output value of "Output speed" is "0 rpm". Reverse gear is not operated in Vehicle speed(Output speed) above 7km/h.

※ If not the output value of "Input speed" is "0 rpm", Check the "Output Speed Sensor" .

A.

Confirm the coincide with Output value of "Shift Control Solenoid Valve C and Shift Control Solenoid Valve F" and refer value as below.

※ Check the resistance of solenoid valve and repair/replace as necessary.

■ Specification : Shift Control Solenoid Valve C (5.1±0.4Ω), Shift Control Solenoid Valve F (10±1Ω)

"INHIBITOR SWITCH" Inspection

Check the "INHIBITOR S/W as below and confirm the alignment of "N" position hole.

※ "INHIBITOR SWITCH" Inspection

Connect "INHIBITOR S/W" connector.

(2)

IG "ON" & Engine "OFF".

(3)

Measure voltages between each terminal and chassis ground during shift lever changed "P, R, N, D".

(4)

Is the measured voltage within specifications?

▶ Replace "Inhibitor Switch".

▶ Go to Alignment of "N" position hole procedure.

※ Alignment of "N" position hole.

Condition : 1. IG "OFF" 2. Shift lever position is "N"

Confirm the align 5mm hole position of "INHIBITOR S/W" and "MANUAL CONTROL LEVER"

※ Align method

Loosen 14mm clamp nut for "MANUAL CONTROL LEVER" and 10mm clamp bolt for "INHIBITOR S/W".

Aligh the 5mm hole with adjusting "INHIBITOR S/W" and "MANUAL CONTROL LEVER".

Insert 5mm Pin into the 5mm hole and then tighten clamp bolt and nut for "INHIBITOR S/W" and "MANUAL CONTROL LEVER".

■ Tighten Torque : clamp bolt of "INHIBITOR S/W" → 8Nm(0.8Kg.m), clamp nut of "MANUAL CONTROL LEVER" → 12~14Nm(1.2~1.4Kg.m)

※ "SHIFT CABLE" adjusting.

If the SHIFT CABLE is slack, It can be caused by incorrect shifting and not start Engine.

so After perform Alignment of "N" position hole, check the "SHIFT CABLE" condition.

Condition : 1. IG "OFF" 2. Shift lever position is "N"

Install the Jig between INHIBITOR S/W and MANUAL CONTROL LEVER and then loosen shift cable nut(12mm).

Pull the shift cable tightly and then tighten clamp nut for "MANUAL CONTROL LEVER".

■ Tighten Torque : clamp bolt of "INHIBITOR S/W" → 1.0Nm ~ 1.2Nm(1.0 ~ 1.2 Kg.m)

The Symptom is corrected?

▶ Confirm Basic inspection procedure.

▶ Replace Auto-Transaxle.
