Disconnect the Battery Sensor and PCM/ECM connectors and inspect for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Reconnect the connectors.
Connect the GDS and go to “Current Data”.
Monitor modules and PCM/ECM sensor values in Current Data, check and wiggle the harness(es), connector(s), and terminal(s).
Any change in the values indicates a poor connection. Was a connector problem found?
![]() | ▶ Repair the connector. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
![]() | ▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure. |
IG "OFF"
Disconnect PCM/ECM harness connector
Measure resistance between High signal terminal and Low signal terminal of PCM/ECM harness connector.
Specification : Approx. 110~130Ω
Is the measured resistance within specification ?
![]() | ▶ Go to next step as below. |
![]() | ▶ Check for open in wiring related to the CAN communication(PCM/ECM, EPS, MTS and vertical resistor at the junction box). Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. note Vertical Resistor Resistance : Approx. 110~130Ω |
IG "OFF"
Disconnect PCM/ECM harness connector.
Measure resistance between High signal terminal of PCM/ECM harness connector and chassis ground.
Measure resistance between Low signal terminal of PCM/ECM harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Infinite(above 10㏀)
Is the measured resistance within specification ?
![]() | ▶ Go to next step as below. |
![]() | ▶ Repair CAN communication line for a short to ground. And then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
IG "OFF"
Disconnect the connectors related to the CAN communication.
IG "ON".
Measure voltage between High signal terminal of PCM/ECM harness connector and chassis ground.
Measure voltage between Low signal terminal of PCM/ECM harness connector and chassis ground.
