Disconnect the KS and PCM/ECM connectors and inspect for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Reconnect the connectors
Connect the GDS and go to “Current Data”.
Monitor KS values in Current Data, check and wiggle the harness(es), connector(s), and terminal(s).
Any change in the values indicates a poor connection. Was a connector problem found?

IG "OFF". Disconnect injector connector.
IG "ON".
Measure voltage between signal terminal of sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Approx. 2~3V
Is the measured voltage within specification ?

![]() | ▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
IG "OFF". Disconnect knock sensor connector and PCM/ECM connector.
Measure resistance between signal terminal of the sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Infinite
Is the measured resistance within specification ?

IG "OFF". Disconnect knock sensor connector and PCM/ECM connector.
Measure resistance between signal terminal of sensor harness connector and Knock signal terminal of the PCM/ECM harness connector.
Specification : Approx. 0Ω
Is the measured resistance within specification ?

IG "OFF". Disconnect knock sensor connector.
Measure resistance of the ground circuit between the sensor connector and the PCM/ECM connector.
Specification : Approx. 0Ω
Is the measured resistance within specification ?
