Disconnect the CKPS and PCM/ECM connectors and inspect for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Reconnect the connectors.
Connect the GDS and go to “Current Data”.
Monitor RPM value in Current Data, check and wiggle the harness(es), connector(s), and terminal(s).
Any change in the values indicates a poor connection. Was a connector problem found?

IG "OFF". Disconnect CKPS connector.
IG "ON".
Measure voltage between low signal terminal of CKPS harness connector and chassis ground.
Measure voltage between high signal terminal of CKPS harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Approx. 1.8V
Is the measured voltage within specification ?

IG "OFF". Disconnect CKPS connector and PCM/ECM connector.
Measure resistance between low signal terminal of CKPS harness connector and CKPS low signal terminal of PCM/ECM harness connector.
Measure resistance between high signal terminal of CKPS harness connector and CKPS high signal terminal of PCM/ECM harness connector.
Specification : Below 1Ω
Is the measured resistance within specification?
