Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Disconnect the IATS and PCM/ECM connectors and inspect for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Reconnect the connectors.

2.

Connect the GDS and go to “Current Data”.

3.

Monitor IATS values in Current Data, check and wiggle the harness(es), connector(s), and terminal(s).

4.

Any change in the values indicates a poor connection. Was a connector problem found?

▶ Repair the connector. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Ground circuit inspection
■ Check resistance
1.

IG "OFF". Disconnect IATS connector.

2.

Measure the resistance between ground terminal of IATS harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 0Ω

3.

Is the measured resistance within specification ?

▶ Go to next step as below.

▶ Repair open circuit and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Signal Circuit Inspection
■ Check voltage
1.

IG "OFF". Disconnect IATS connector.

2.

IG "ON" & ENG "OFF"

3.

Measure the voltage between signal terminal of IATS harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 5V

4.

Is voltage within the specification?

▶ Go to next step as below.

▶ Check for open or short to battery in signal harness. Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
