Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to next step as below.

Signal Circuit Inspection
■ Check Open or Short in signal circuit
1.

IG "OFF".

2.

Disconnect ECTS connector.

3.

IG "ON" & ENG "OFF".

4.

Measure the voltage between signal terminal of ECTS harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification :Approx. 3.3V

5.

Is the measured resistance within specification ?

▶ Go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ground Circuit Inspection
1.

IG "OFF".

2.

Disconnect IATS connector.

3.

IG "ON" & ENG "OFF".

4.

Measure the voltage between signal terminal of ECTS harness connector and chassis ground.(A)

5.

Measure the voltage between signal and ground terminal of ECTS harness connector and chassis ground.(B)

Specification : The Difference between "A" and "B" is below 200mV

6.

Is the measured voltage within specification ?

▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
