Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

Has a problem been found?

	▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
	▶ Go to "Cold Start Fuel Pump Relay circuit inspection" procedure.

IG KEY "OFF".

Disconnect Cold Start Fuel Pump Relay.

IG KEY "ON" & ENG "OFF".

Measure the voltage between power from battery terminal and power from main relay terminal of fuel pump relay harness connector.

Is the measured voltage within specification ?

	▶ Go to "Control Circuit Inspection" procedure.
	▶ Repair Open or Short in power circuit, and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

IG KEY "OFF".

Disconnect Cold Start Fuel Pump Relay and ECM connector.

Measure the resistance between signal terminal of Cold Start Fuel Pump Relay harness connector and Cold Start Fuel Pump Relay control terminal of ECM harness connector.

Is the measured resistance within specification ?

	▶ Go to "Component inspection" procedure.
	▶ Repair Open in control circuit, and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
