System Inspection

◆ Wastegate Solenoid Valve

■ Visual check
1.

Check turbocharger wastegate solenoid valve damage.

2.

Check wastegate adjusting rod damage.

3.

Check wastegate solenoid valve stuck.

4.

Check wastegate stuck closed.

5.

Chech wastegate control hose open or plugged.

6.

Check wastegate adjustment.

■ Perform Wastegate Solenoid Valve
7.

Connect GDS to Data Link Connector(DLC).

8.

IG KEY "ON" & ENG "OFF".

9.

Perform "Actuation Test" for wastegate solenoid valve.

■ Inspection Wastegate Solenoid Valve
10.

IG Key "OFF".

11.

Disconnect Wastegate Solenoid Valve connector.

12.

Measure resistance between power and control terminal of the Wastegate Solenoid Valve. (Component Side)

Specification : Approx. 29.7 ± 1.4 Ω [20°C(68°F)]

■ Confirm Part Inspection
13.

Does the wastegate work properly? (Check variation)

▶ Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Substitute with a known-good wastegate and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace wastegate and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

◆ Boost Pressure Sensor (BPS)

■ Check BPS performance
14.

IG KEY "OFF".

15.

Connnect CH A probe to signal terminal of MAPS connector and CH B probe to signal terminal of BPS connector.

16.

Connnect CH C probe to signal terminal of TPS connector.

17.

Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.

18.

Measure signal waveform of MAPS, BPS and TPS all together by stepping on and off the accellerator padel.

Specification : Refer to Signal Waveform & Data

■ Confirm Part Inspection
19.

Does the BPS operate properly? (Check variation)

▶ Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Substitute with a known-good BPS and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace BPS and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
