Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.

Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage

2.

Thoroughly check all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found ?

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "CAN Circuit Inspection" procedure.

CAN Circuit Inspection (EPS ↔ ECM/PCM)
■ Open Check
1.

Ignition "OFF".

2.

Disconnect EPS CM & ECU connector .

3.

Measure resistance between CAN HIGH terminal of the EPS CM harness connector and CAN HIGH terminal terminal of the ECM/PCM harness connector.

4.

Measure resistance between CAN LOW terminal of the EPS CM harness connector and CAN LOW terminal terminal of the ECM/PCM harness connector.

Specification : Approx. below 1Ω

5.

Is the measured resistance within specifications?

▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.

▶ Check Open between EPS CM & engine ECU harness.

Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
