Turn the ignition switch ON.
Blow air with changing temperature into the in-car sensor air inlet. Measure the sensor resistance between 1 and 2 terminals.
Temperature [°C(°F)] | Resistance between terminals 1 and 2 (㏀) |
-30(-22) | 509.6 |
-15(5) | 216.0 |
0 (32) | 97.71 |
15(59) | 47.13 |
25(77) | 30.00 |
35(95) | 19.59 |
50(122) | 10.81 |
60(140) | 7.463 |
An in-car sensor is a negative type thermistor. The resistance will rise with lower temperature, and reduce with higher temperature.
Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
Remove the center fascia panel.
(Refer to Body - "Center Fascia Panel")
Remove the cluster fascia panel.
(Refer to Body - "Cluster Fascia Panel")
After loosening the mounting screws, remove the drive airvent duct assembly (A).
After loosening the mounting screws, remove the clock fascia panel (A).
Disconnect the clock switch connector (A).
After loosening the mounting screws, then remove the center airvent duct assembly [RH] (A).
Remove the in-car hose (A).
Disconnect the in-car sensor connector (B).
Loosen the mounting screws and then remove the in-car sensor (A) located in the back side of the center airvent duct assembly [RH].
Install in the reverse order of removal.
