Removal of the airbag must be performed according to the precautions/ procedures described previously.
Before disconnecting the front impact sensor connector, disconnect the front airbag connector(s).
Do not turn the ignition switch ON and do not connect the battery cable while replacing the front impact sensor.
Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for at least three minutes before beginning work.
Left front impact sensor - Loosen the mounting bolts(2EA) of head lamp. Remove the head lamp assembly after disconnecting the head lamp connectors.
Right front impact sensor - Remove the washer reservoir. (Refer to the Body electrical group - washor motor)
Disconnect the Front Impact Sensor connector.
Remove the Front Impact Sensor mounting bolt.
Remove the Front Impact Sensor.
Do not turn the ignition switch ON and do not contact the battery cable while replacing the front impact sensor.
Install the new Front Impact Sensor.
Tighten the Front Impact Sensor mounting bolt.
Tightening torque
: 6.8 ~ 9.2 Nm (0.7 ~ 0.9 kgf.m, 5.0 ~ 6.8 lb.ft)
Connect the Front Impact Sensor connector.
Left front impact sensor - Install the head lamp assembly.
Right fornt impact sensor - Install the washer reservoir. (Refer to the Body electrical group - whashe motor)
Reconnect the battery negative cable.
After installing the Front Impact Sensor, confirm proper system operation:
Turn the ignition switch ON the SRS indicator light should be turned on for about six seconds and then go off.
