The TPMS is the acronym for Tire Pressure Monitoring System. This system monitors the pressure of the tire and when it drops below a certain pressure, the TPMS Module(TPMS ECU) makes the warning lamp turn on for notifying the driver. This system consists of TPMS Module and TPMS sensors. Among components of TPMS system, the TPMS sensor is installed at each wheel rim. and its role is to measure the air pressure and the temperature of the tire and then it transmits its signals to TPMS Module. The communication from TPMS sensors is done via RF(Radio Frequency) at a frequency.
AL(Auto Learning) starts every time, the vehicle was parked long enough to change or permute wheels(9min), and when vehicle travels again at a speed that ensures the TPMS sensors are transmitting. AL is automatically considering all TPMS sensor identifiers received and extracts, based on statistical evaluation, IDs belonging to the TPMS sensors mounted on the vehicle. If new IDs are detected their recurrence will be tracked by AL. When AL is in progress, tire pressure monitoring is running in parallel with the old set of identifiers known from the last run of AL.
