Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.

Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check all connectors(and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found ?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF"

2.

Disconnect Yaw Rate Sensor connector.

3.

Ignition "ON"

4.

Measure voltage between Pin No. 1(power) terminal of Yaw Rate Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : B+

5.

Is the measured value within specifications ?

▶ Go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in power circuit Yaw Rate Sensor harness connector and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ground Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF"

2.

Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.

3.

Disconnect Yaw Rate Sensor connector.

4.

Measure resistance between Pin No. 4 (Ground) terminal of Yaw Rate Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. below 1Ω

5.

Is the measured value within specifications ?

▶ Go to "CAN Communication Line Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in ground circuit of Yaw Rate Sensor harness connector and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

CAN Communication Line Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF"

2.

Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.

3.

Disconnect HECU and Yaw Rate Sensor connector

4.

Measure resistance between Pin No. 26 (CAN High) terminal of HECU harness connector and Pin No. 2 (CAN High) terminal of Yaw Rate Sensor harness connector.

5.

Measure resistance between Pin No. 14 (CAN Low) terminal of HECU harness connector and Pin No. 3 (CAN Low) terminal of Yaw Rate Sensor harness connector.

Specification : Approx. below 1 Ω

6.

Is measured value within specification?

▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open in CAN Communication circuit between HECU and Yaw Rate Sensor harness connector and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
