Remove the engine cover.
Remove the under covers (A).
Loosen the drain plug (A) and drain the coolant.
Open the radiator cap to make rapid draining.
Disconnect the battery negative terminal (A).
Remove the air cleaner assembly.
Disconnect the MAFS (Mass Air Flow Sensor) connector (B).
Remove the breather hose (C).
Remove the air hose (D).
Tightening torque :
2.9 ~ 4.9N.m (0.3 ~ 0.5kgf.m, 2.2 ~ 3.6lb-ft)
Remove the air cleaner assembly (E) after removing 3 bolts.
Tightening torque :
7.8 ~ 9.8N.m (0.8 ~ 1.0kgf.m, 5.8 ~ 7.2lb-ft)
Remove the radiator cap assembly hose (A) and lower hose (B).
Install the radiator hoses as shown illustrations.
Remove the front bumper.
Remove the rail (A). (Refer to Bumper in BD group)
Remove the radiator upper mounting brackets (A).
Tightening torque :
6.9 ~ 10.8N.m (0.7 ~ 1.1kgf.m, 5.1 ~ 8.0lb-ft)
Remove the radiator upper cover (A).
Disconnect the fan motor connector (A).
Separate the A/C condenser (A) from the radiator assembly and then lift up the radiator assembly.
Remove the cooling fan (A) from the radiator (B).
Tightening torque :
8.8 ~ 10.8N.m (0.9 ~ 1.1kgf.m, 6.5 ~ 8.0lb-ft)
Installation is reverse order of removal.
Bleed air from the cooling system
Start engine and let it run until it warms up. (until the radiator fan operates 3 or 4 times.)
Turn Off engine. Check the coolant level and add coolant if needed. This will allow trapped air to be removed from the cooling system.
Put the radiator cap on tightly, then run engine again and check for leaks.
Remove the radiator cap, wet its seal with engine coolant, then install it on a pressure tester.
Apply a pressure of 93.16 ~ 122.58 kPa (0.95 ~ 1.25 kg/cm², 13.51 ~ 17.78 psi).
Check for a drop in pressure.
If the pressure drops, replace the cap.
Wait until engine is cool, then carefully remove the radiator cap.
Fill the radiator with engine coolant, then install the pressure tester on the filler neck.
Apply a pressure of 93.16 ~ 122.58 kPa (0.95 ~ 1.25 kg/cm², 13.51 ~ 17.78 psi) to the pressure tester.
Inspect for engine coolant leaks and a drop in pressure.
If coolant leak or pressure drop is occur, replace the part.
Check for engine oil in the coolant and/or coolant in the engine oil.
Installation is reverse order of removal.
Fill with engine coolant.
Start the engine out check for leaks.
Recheck the engine coolant level.
