Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Remove the oil temperature sensor.
(Refer to "Removal").
After immersing the thermistor of the sensor into engine coolant, measure resistance between the OTS terminals.
Check that the resistance is within the specification.
Temperature | Resistance (㏀) | |
℃ | ℉ | |
-40 | -40 | 52.15 |
-20 | -4 | 14.08 ~ 19.45 |
0 | 32 | 6.0 |
20 | 68 | 2.16 ~ 2.78 |
40 | 104 | 1.11 |
60 | 140 | 0.54 |
80 | 176 | 0.26 ~ 0.32 |
100 | 212 | 0.16 |
120 | 248 | 0.10 |
Turn the ignitions switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
Remove the engine room under cover.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Under Cover")
Remove the oil temperature sensor (A) after disconnect the oil temperature sensor.
Oil Temperature Sensor:
34.3 ~ 44.1 N.m (3.5 ~ 4.5 kgf.m, 25.3 ~ 32.5 lb-ft)
Install the component with the specified torques.
Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped. In this case, use it after inspecting.
Apply the sealant (LOCTITE FED546 or equivalent) to the sensor.
Insert the sensor in the installation hole and be careful not to damage when installation.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
