Remove the bracket (B) after loosening the mounting bolts (A).
Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
Remove the air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to "Engine and transaxle assembly in EM group.)
Remove the battery and ECM.
(Refer to "Charging system" in EE group.)
Remove the fuel filter assembly.
(Refer to Fuel Delivery System - "Fuel Filter")
Remove the bracket (B) after loosening the mounting bolts (A).
Remove the water sensor (A).
Note that internal damage may occur when the component is dropped. In this case, use it after inspecting.
Installation is reverse of removal.
Turn the ignition switch ON or engine idle.
Check that the water sensor lamp.
Specification: About 2 second
Without presence of water, the lamp should flash for 2 seconds and turn off afterward in order that this system has normal condition.
Turn the ignition switch OFF, and then remove battery negative (-) terminal.
Remove the water sensor.
(Refer to Delivery System - "Water Sensor")
Reconnect the water sensor connector and sensor.
Turn the ignition switch ON.
Ground the sening pin at chassis ground.
Specification: Sensor lamp "ON"
